Our Cougar bursts on the tongue with bubbles that tickle the mouth, but don't overwhelm your senses, showing her maturity and expertise. This wine draws in the tongue with sweet flavors of tropical fruits and then seals the deal with a light sparkle.

Tasting Notes: This semi-dry semi-sparkling wine is reminiscent of prosecco. Early season cantaloupes mingle with spice and reveal fresh green apple when tasted. For a morning treat, the Cougar mimosa is a staff and wine club member favorite.

Food Pairings: Goat cheese and crackers served with warm candied walnuts.

I don't usually like sparkling wine but this is outstanding! Can't get it in Utah though, might have to take a road trip to restock!!

I will be the first to say that I don't like white wines. That is until Joe at the Hood River tasting room put a sample of this one in front of me. I am now a lover of a few white wines along with my favorite reds!!!

I learned about Naked Winery at the 2016 Wine Bloggers Conference. I'm a huge fan of Oregon wines and was excited to try their wines which are mostly from Oregon (like this Cougar) and Washington state. I also love there branding, wine should be both fun and sexy.

First off, this wine is a sweet wine. If you are looking for a dry semi-sparkler this isn't for you. It's buttery with lots of fruit notes. To me pear was most prominent but the people I drank it with also picked up peach and apricot. Because the bubbles are light and it has high sugar this wine is made for pairing with more acidic fruit juices like cranberry, tart cherry or tangerine for a different kind of "mimosa". Because of the high sugar it would also work well with spicy Thai food.

Disclosure: I was given a free bottle for review, however I received no traditional compensation nor did it affect my review.
