Moving More Green - Eco friendly packaging

Yes, that’s right folks we’ll be one of the first companies to use an environmentally friendly plastic bottle. These bottles are amazing, as they are: 6 times lighter, use 6 times less water and reduce greenhouse gas and air pollution by 50% compared to glass bottle production. They are class 1 recyclable and BPA Free. BPA free means that’s its safe for babies and children to use. Of course this means adults have consumed the wine and refilled the container with a suitable beverage. This is really possible as the bottles use resalable screw top closures. But wait, there’s more, these bottles are significantly smaller than the standard glass bottle but hold the same amount of wine, so you can easily shove them into your back pack. Now, if that was not enough, they’re shatterproof too i.e. unbreakable so you can drop them and not lose your wine!

Can things get better? Yep, we’ve started the switch to ECO glass for all our wines by Saint Gobbain. These new bottles are made from 100% recycled glass, use less glass and at 10.55oz are the lightest glass bottle in the world. Did we mention this glass is just a durable as the old heavy bottles? You’ll see the new ECO glass with the release of our 2009 Vixen Syrah and 2009 Naked Pinot Noir this fall.

We’re working feverishly to get set up to run the Envino bottles on a bottling line in our new Hood River Winery this summer. Stay tuned.

Note: Oh! Orgasmic bottles will continue in French double weight glass. We just like the way they feel too much.
